This time the journey was short, at least for the ramps. We were happy to perform for students at Belwood Elementary in Calhoun, GA. Our ramps and equipment is actually based out of Calhoun, which is North of Atlanta, GA. Riders made their way over from Atlanta and South Carolina to showcase BMX Freestyle in two destinct forms, ramp riding and flatland. We ended a great week of BMX shows in Southern California with a stop in Brentwood, a neighborhood located in Los Angeles. Brentwood Science Magnet students were high energy and a really great audience. Riders performed tricks on the ground, and in the air. We even got some of the teachers involved! We made the drive directly from touring in California and our first stop on the East Coast was Fredericksburg, VA. We made our way to Parkside Elementary on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon. This time we split the student body into two groups, the lower grades and the upper grades. It was a rainy day, but our ramp setup easily moves into a small gym if necessary. Riders showed off cool bmx tricks and gave words of inpiration and encouragement. Students were urged to stay focused in school, be motivated, inspire their peers, and to follow their dreams with small steps towards success.
